Moringa is a plant native to India, which is becoming increasingly popular in Europe, especially in Spain. It has three very big advantages:
- It is a plant that needs very little water, which allows it to survive long periods of drought.
- Everything can be used, whether it is the bark, the root, the leaves or the seeds. And those who cultivate it can quickly profit from it since it grows extremely quickly, from 3 to 4 centimeters per day. It could reach 10 to 12 meters, but for cultivation it is limited to 2 meters.
- It has many beneficial properties for health, and can be categorized as a "superfood". It is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, carbohydrates and proteins. It's not for nothing that it's called the "tree of life" or the "miracle tree".
How is it used?
Several cosmetic brands already use it, such as Panya Natural with our wide range of moringa products sustainably produced by local Thai farmers.
The moringa powder can also be used for cooking as the powder can easily be mixed with fruits and yoghurt, vegetables and various types of dressings and creams. Moringa leaves can also be eaten, or dried to make tea.
In the past, its oil was even used in watchmaking for its ability not to become rancid or sticky.
Moringa provides iron, calcium, magnesium and proteins. It is therefore quite suitable for vegetarians, athletes, the elderly, people with burnout, and menopausal women.
On the other hand, its consumption is not recommended for pregnant women and young children because of its high vitamin A content.
